Description of Book

This book, written by the same person who designed all the cards we offer on our site, is now available. The book is simple, yet complete for the beginning learner. Analogies such as moving rocks, teaching a disruptive class, and watering your lawn are used to explain the concepts of ECG rhythm interpretation. Because the strips you will see in the real world never look perfect, we chose to use only strips from REAL patients. This book is actually READABLE. It is the first book where it may be possible to actually teach yourself ECG interpretation. Also, if you are one of the first 1,000 to purchase the book from this website, the author will even sign the book! The book even comes with a free copy of the ECG Cheat Sheet that started this site three years ago! Also, purchasing through this website will entitle you to FREE access to the newest part of our website - coming soon - that will have practice strips, ask the ECG experts where you can upload strips to discuss and eventually a discussion group. Due to my cost savings, shipping to the continental U.S. IS NOW included (contact us for international shipping). If you would like to see the book and a sample chapter, click here.

OR choose a VERY special combination deal. The ECGbook (with the enclosed ECG Cheat sheet) plus the MI Cheat Sheet and the 12-lead ECG Cheat Sheet for only $47.95. If purchased separately, at full price you would spend over $50.00. (FREE SHIPPING in the continental U.S. only, contact us for international shipping).

Description of Card

The ECG Cheat Sheet, the card that started this whole website, will give you tons of basic rhythm interpretation information, literally at your fingertips. It contains key points of 25 common rhythms including sinus, atrial, junctional and ventricular rhythms as well as AV and bundle branch blocks. Acute MI ECG changes are shown and the leads involved in a variety of MI types are also listed. An easy to use heart rate measurement tool and a new tool designed to aid in differentiating those pesky AV blocks, round out the front of this card.

On the back there are 27 computer drawn 'perfect' rhythm strips with key features identified to give you visual examples which you can use to hone your interpretation skills. Excellent for novices as a learning tool, and skilled practitioners as a quick resource. An indispensable card just the right size to keep in your scrub or lab coat pocket. EMTs, paramedics, medical students and nurses all have found this helpful in studying and bedside interpretation. Shipping included (Continental U.S. only, contact us for international shipping)!

Description of Card

Now, a new addition to our card collection and our first full COLOR entry - the MI Cheat Sheet Card! This card tells you what the P, QRS, and T-wave generally look like in each of the 12 leads. It gives you clues to recognizing ischemia, injury and infarction on the 12-lead. But, more importantly it shows you where on the heart the injury is happening. Identify the leads which show the MI and then just follow that COLOR onto the front and back of the card. On the front of the card you will find the leads that are related share the same color, and what part of the heart they monitor as well the area of the heart effected on an image of the heart, shaded with that same color. Turn the card over and you will see at a glance the reciprocal leads, the area of the heart effected, the coronary artery most likely effected as well as possible serious/life threatening consequences frequently associated with each type of MI. A must for beginners in 12-lead ECG recognition of MI and a handy reference and teaching tool for more experienced practitioners. EMTs, paramedics, medical students and nurses all have found this helpful in studying and bedside MI recognition. (Continental U.S. only, contact us for international shipping)

Description of Card

This card was a long time in the making. There are so many criteria that can be included. We ran version after version by cardiologists to ensure we had the most important diagnoses and best criteria for them that we could fit in one card. On the front side there are major criteria for determining atrial and ventricular hypertrophy, axis deviation (as well as some causes), left and right bundle branch block as well as left anterior and left posterior fascicular block.

The back of the card has the well-known Brugada criteria (as well as others) for determining whether or not a wide complex tachycardia is V-tach or SVT with aberrancy. Meet ANY of the numerous criteria and it's V-tach, meet none of the criteria and you have a greater than 99% chance it is NOT V-tach. The back also includes the effect of electrolyte disturbances on the ECG, as well as a few tidbits that deal with criteria for MI mimics and ECG changes that can predict an anterior wall MI. (Benign early repolarization, pericarditis, and Wellen's syndrome),

An excellent reference to take while in a class (review or initial training), or to keep handy while interpreting the 12-lead ECG, or as a quick review or reference. Shipping included (Continental U.S. only, contact us for international shipping)!

Description of Card

An indispensable card just the right size to keep in your scrub or lab coat pocket. It contains information correlating the various waveforms of the intra-aortic balloon pump with each other. On the front side there is the ECG, the balloon pressure waveform and the arterial pressure waveform showing how the electrical and mechanical aspects of the heart and the balloon pump relate. A variety of important features are clearly labeled. There are also the four basic rules identifying the IABP waveform features to help you determine proper timing of the IABP with the patient's heart rhythm. On the of the card, there are the major timing errors to be aware of and key features of the IABP waveform that identify the errors as well as a brief narrative explaining the consequences, both to the IABP waveform and the potential clinical implications to the patient. Also featured are actual balloon pressure waveform changes and what they mean. An excellent reference to take while in a class (review or initial training), or to keep handy while caring for the patient with an IABP to use as a quick review or reference.
